Long before “fake news” and “alternative facts” became topics of national discussion and face-palming, the linguistic theorist and social critic Noam Chomsky was offering up in-depth reflections on the way power-systems manufacture consent, creating necessary illusions to distract citizens from systemic inequalities and injustices.

Sat. March 18 the Fort Lewis College Softball team faced the Regis University Rangers in a double header in Aztec, NM. The field at FLC is under renovations therefore the team is playing in Aztec for this season. The first game was close, but ended in a loss for the Skyhawks with a final score of 1-2.  The second game FLC came back for revenge and won with a final score of 9-2.

As you may know, there has been an ongoing debate regarding the identity of Fort Lewis College. Should it be deemed a liberal arts college or a college that provides a “liberal education” to its students?

FLC was looking to get back in the win column after a loss in their last game against Lindenwood University. They beat Oklahoma Baptist University today at home 16-4.

Second ranked team in the nation, the Lindenwood University’s women’s lacrosse in Saint Charles, Missouri, proved why they are ranked that high in their dominant win over the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks, 20-4.
