The Bloom cafe is a cozy and cultured lunch spot tucked away off Camino Del Rio, near the Animas River and Albertson's parking lot.
The cafe has a fenced, landscaped patio, and the inside is decorated with colorful paintings and stained glass.
I was greeted by the kindest staff, and met the owner, Andrew Krull. I can almost guarantee that anyone who eats here will have the urge to return. My experience, as a person with a plant-based diet, was incredible.
I ordered the Veggie Delite, a massive sandwich on house-made focaccia bread, stuffed with hummus, sweet potato, avocado, lettuce, red pepper, cucumber, and tomato, for eight dollars.
The flavors were well balanced, and the colors were vibrant. A strong indicator that the ingredients were fresh and natural.
This vegan option is an excellent source of protein, which some vegan food lacks.
More protein-rich vegan options consist of a house-made veggie burger, kale salad, and a quinoa bowl.
There are also plenty of non-vegan options, such as soups, sandwiches and salads made with salmon, chicken, and turkey. I noticed no red meat other than ham was served, due to their passion in light and healthy eating.
The staff was very flexible, and offered to make any menu item vegan for me, such as a house favorite sandwich, the Amazing Artichoke Delight.
Salads and sandwiches range from eight to fourteen dollars, which seems like a lot until you see and taste your food. The quantity and quality are worth the price.
If you are on a budget, you could also order a cup of soup for three dollars and 50 cents, or a bowl for seven dollars.
The Bloom Cafe offers many dessert options, such as cakes and cookies, that are often gluten or dairy-free.
Their hours are currently eleven to five Monday-Saturday, and eleven to two-thirty on Sundays.
During the summer, The Bloom Cafe opens their food truck and travels to nearby events and festivals.
Whether you are looking for a big hearty meal, a light cheap option, or a sweet snack, Bloom Cafe is worth checking out, even for those with some dietary restrictions.
