Marvel’s “Black Panther” lit up the box office this past weekend grossing about $427 million worldwide and $242 million domestically, according to Vanity Fair.

While the hype for this movie’s release was huge, the delivery was even bigger and more powerful than imagined. Right from the start the people of Wakanda have viewers on the edge their seats and clawing for more.

This is a story of a young king who is faced with keeping tradition while balancing the ever changing world. Main character T’Challa/Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, is the man in charge. Viewers embark on this journey with him and watch as he struggles to stay true to his people while doing what he believes is right.

T’Challa struggles to live up to his father’s name while making his own. He must come out from under his shadow and rule Wakanda as he sees fit. This is the story of a man who has the power to make a difference in the world and in the end chooses to break tradition, make his own mark and use his power to benefit the world.

The characters are riveting, the visuals are mesmerizing, the musical score is awakening and the message is uncanny. This movie is not just a superhero movie. It is a revolution in the making, and this is just the beginning.

Not only has the “Black Panther” broken box office records by earning more during the four-day weekend than “Justice League” did during its entire showing. Director Ryan Coogler revolutionizes what it means to be a superhero and the possibilities that come with it. “Black Panther” is everyone’s story, and it inspires us all to stand up for what we believe in and make a difference, in our world.
